It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of the children, staff and governors, to our school. It is our aim to give each and every child the very best start in life to enable them to go on to be confident, successful and responsible individuals; empowering them to be secure, engaged and equipped for life.

I have the privilege of leading a professional, dedicated and highly committed staff with a passion for teaching and learning, who are constantly striving to put the needs of learners first. At Newton you will see pupils participating in an outstanding range of learning activities which promote independence and collaboration while focusing on developing key skills across the curriculum. But above all else, there is a buzz and excitement of learning, which we sincerely hope they will maintain throughout their lives.

We are fortunate to have a range of resources within our community which help us maximise and enhance the learning experiences of our pupils; the beach, woodland area, duck pond and playing fields to name a few. We believe that happiness and wellbeing are the beginning of a child’s learning journey and we are pleased to provide a positive ethos which is a happy, safe, secure and stimulating learning environment in which all members of our school community can develop their potential and grow in self-esteem.

At Newton Primary we are a family school and we see our pupils, parents, governors and the wider community as key members of that family.
