Meet the Eco Committee for 2022/23

The Eco Committee is a group of pupils who are elected by their classmates.

Two pupils from each class from Year 1 to Year 6 are elected at the start of each school year.

The Eco Committee hold meetings to discuss new ideas to help the school become more environmentally friendly.

Following the meetings, the Eco Committee feed back information to their classes and the rest of the school.  They follow up on what needs to be done and evaluate afterwards.

The Eco Committee encourage other pupils to recycle around the school and at home, turn off lights when not in use, hold school uniform swap shops, litter pick around the school and  local area, encourage bio-diversity by planting trees and plants around the school grounds and lots more!

The Eco Committee have an action plan and work towards achieving their goals throughout the school year.

We are part of the Eco-Schools global programme which engages 19.5 million children across 70 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet.

The Eco Schools’ aim is to inspire and empower young people to drive positive environmental change.

The Eco Committee are proud to announce that they have been awarded the Platinum Award Green Flag again this year!
