We have had a wonderful start to the new term. It has been lovely to see all the children come to school happy every day and eager to learn.
September kicked off to a wonderful start with exciting innovation (WOW) days. Foundation Phase children had a very exciting start to their new topic called 'Paws, Claws and Whiskers.' The children were asked to come to school dressed as animals, and they did not disappoint! We had wild tigers, cute kittens, cheeky puppies, and many more fantastic outfits.
When they arrived at school, Dosbarth Sandy Bay were excited to find a new member of their class waiting for them... Morris the rabbit! The children loved getting to observe his movements, learning how to care for pets and they even got to give him a cuddle. He was so soft!
Throughout the day, the children took part in many exciting activities based on their new topic. They decorated biscuits with tiger stripes, made carnivore or herbivore droppings cakes and had their faces painted. They finished the day with a tea party on the field and the children got to taste the treats they made out in the sun. What a fantastic way to engage the children in their new topic!
Key Stage 2 also had a fantastic start to their topic - ‘Road trip USA’. Their WOW day was with an American themed day with everyone dressed up in American clothes, an Elvis impersonator, line dancing and doughnuts! We certainly started the Elvis Festival weekend in style!
